Mark is CEMET Co-Director and Head of School of Computing and Mathematics at the University of South Wales.
He graduated with a degree in Applied Mathematics from Queen Mary College, University of London in 1982 before obtaining his MSc in Systems Engineering from Cardiff College, University of Wales in 1989.
For three years he worked at the University of Wales, Cardiff in the department of Electronic and Systems Engineering as a Research Associate developing mathematical and simulation models of industrial supply chain with a range of industrial partners.
Mark joined the University of South Wales (then University of Glamorgan) in 1993, he became Deputy head of Department of Computing and Mathematics in 2009 and Head of School in 2013.
In 2016 he became Co-Director of the Centre of Excellence in Mobile and Emerging Technologies and founded the National Cyber Security Academy aim to produce the cyber professionals of the future. Mark is passionate about promoting the benefits of higher education to the next generation.
As head of applied statistics and operational research group, Mark has extensive experience of consultancy work and has delivered many projects to the industry and the government.
